Don't bother with upgrading just yet, even with the SML report saying what it does about the x50, you have to remember that with laser, the warning time is usually only a split-second with any of the detectors, and possibly no warning at all if the leo was trained properly. Perfect example is outrun's video. laser101. When they were getting pissed about not getting a reading, they targeted his plate, blinder went off, but the detector NEVER made a sound on that run.

In my own opinion, detectors are only useful for radar, and you'll need a secondary protection against laser.
