    Default POP

    Hi!

i have few quastions! its normal to have false POP signl? or its some problem with my x50?

in my city police using only Ka signl (Stalker ATR, Stalker Dual) if i turn of all other signls, its make some extra range?

can mine x50 dont detect ATR? in instant-on mode?

If your police only use Stalker, then there really isn't any point to keep POP on since POP is only found on MPH Industry guns.

But to answer your question, yes, you could say it's normal for the X50 (and a lot of other detectors) to false on POP, especially when instant on is used. Also, POP isn't widely used.

Turning off all other bands will not increase your range. It merely doesn't let you know they are there. Still, though, I wouldn't turn off K, "just in case."

And, yes, the X50 can definitely detect the Stalker. It's one of the guns it does a better job against.

X2. You increase the chances of getting POP false alert from other radar detectors when POP is enabled. The X50 does well with stalkers either with ATR or the duals. To minimize false POP alerts, disable POP.

    What state are you in?

X3 I turned off POP on my 9500I, it was useless. I leave all bands on even X, but I do have a 9500I so I don’t need too.

Just about all detectors can "false POP" - the x50 is certainly no exception to this.

My Rev.5 falses POP rather badly in-town. There's a variety of potential triggers, including the ubiquitous Cobra detectors in nearby vehicles, which can trigger this false.

Unless you truly *need* POP protection, disable it. This should be further qualified by your local enforcement hardware - look on GOL's latest detector test page, and if your local enforcers use POP equipment for which your x50 doesn't stand much of a chance of capturing even a true signal from, then it's also not "cost-effective" (in terms of the persistent false-POPs that you'd get, which will quickly erode your confidence in the detector) to have POP detection enabled.

A nearby Cobra is the biggest headache -- they emit signals that look identical to POP constantly and are difficult if not impossible to filter out. I think V1 with it's Junk alert retraction is the only detector that makes an attempt at identifying Cobra related falses, though of course people have reported that this heuristic isn't perfect.

denofevil, does your 8500X50 detects Berkut or Iskra pulse radar?

I rembmber someone told me,that only V1 with POP on detects Berkut pulse(300m/s) radar.
There was also test done with RX-65 and it alerted VERY badly or no alert at all, to Berkut or Iskra1pulse radar.
