yes holding both top buttons together should get you into the the settings. If not, do a hard reset on the RD. Press and hold all three buttons together and then turn the RD ON with the thumbwheel.

Your doing it correctly..... Press and hold both the top button for 2 seconds
and it should beep twice and Display in Bright Letters " Program "
If your not getting that, I would do as said above and do a hard
reset. Where did you purchase from?

i tryed a hard reset... by pushing all three bottons. its said RESET then the V and then the normal start up.. when do i let go of the bottons? well i did a soon as it got done with the start up. i tryed pushing the top 2 bottons nothing. i turned it off and turned it back on while i was holding the 2 bottons still nothing. i bought it from ebay from a 99.4% user feedback with 2984 Sells and i did get the warranty.

    * does it need to be in any exact setting to enter the EZ program setting* ?
did u guy ever hear about this problem ?
By the way the bottons do work. and when i push them both and hold them, when i let go it just acts like i pushed DIm or City...

Sounds like you may have a bad unit.....
Score another one for ebay...... :?
Ebay is notorious for bad detectors.

Not really sure.... It should go directly into Program Mode.
Let me make sure your doing it correctly.

Press and Hold the top 2 buttons for 2 seconds while the detector
is on. It may be a little more than 2 seconds but it should go
Beep Beep ( very loud and Bright ). after this just let go
and you should be able to scroll through the settings with the
    City button on the top.

If the detector is on and you push and hold the top two buttons,
you will get the Program Screen.

If you press all three buttons with the detector on, nothing will happen.

If the detector is off, and you press and hold all three buttons then turn
the detector on, you reset the detector.

I'd say, you got a bad unit from ebay.....
I'd send it back for a new one.
