Default Canceled order for V1 and ordered 9500i

I had ordered A V1 straight from website but cancelled just a few ago and ordered a 9500i. After looking at all the test results from GOL I noticed the 9500i wasnt far behind the V1. I like the V1 arrows but after getting a couple of responses on my V1 post I decided I liked the gps function for blocking falses more. I hope iI made the right decision. Plus if the Z4 is as good as they are saying then I'll have a complete Escort set-up. Like I said I hope I made the right decision.

I have had 3 9500I's and loved them all, the 9500I is a superior peace of technology that provides a real jack of all triads mentality. The quietness to useless falses more than compensates for the small sensitivity and arrow advantage the V1 has. The V1 is a nice unit, but in the end its what fits your needs the best.
If you give the 9500I a real chance, its features will really shine.

congratulations on a good decision for your personal needs. When the ZR4 is available you will have the most reliable combo out there.

I actually react much better with my 9500I to real alerts than what i did with my old 8500, i could imagine what a V1 would be like. I have actually been able to have my daily commute completely quiet except for the rare LEO ruining radar that startles me. The 9500I being so quiet has saved me so many times its amazing.

Join the club! I just got my blue 9500i today! For the first time, I was actually hoping to encounter a LEO just to see if the 9500i works or not!

Since you have already used several Belscort products, the learning curve will be very quick. Put it in auto mode, set your favorite setting from the Bel RDs and go. Once you get used to having a RD that's silent unless it's a LEO, it's hard to get used to anything else.

    ^ +1.

Familiarity with other Bel/Escort products will accelerate your learning curve with the 9500i.

The ramp-up scheme is still a bit different, but depending on your time-on-road/miles logged per week, you could get used to this relatively quickly, too (especially if you see a lot of enforcement action).

Don't try to predict what the detector will do - don't try to out-think it based on your previous Bel/Escort experience. Just listen to it and observe its behavior, and you'll quickly get the hang of it.

To me, there's not a "better" product between the 9500i and the V1. It's just two different beasts, and the end-user needs to simply decide which tool best fits his/her own end-needs.

By reading your previous posts about hating falses, you made the right decision.

I agree. Well, there's the STi, but that's on its own playing field.

I should be getting a V1 in tomorrow. Just got the 9500i last week, and I love it so far. But I want to do some comparisons, and would like to see the directional arrows in action. I think the arrows might be helpful to identify undercover cars utilized by Houston's finest. I might run both units all the time. My GF will probably give me grief about it!

Wait until you try the 9500i around town in Auto Sensitivity mode. The way it magically alerts to approaching police K band radar is really spooky even though Escort claims that Auto Sensitivity mode is strictly based on your vehicle's speed. There is a heck of a lot going on with Auto Sensitivity mode compared to Escort's simple "speed based" sensitivity. One of Escort's sales reps which I really trust told me that more lines of firmware code have gone into the 9500i versus any other RD which they (Escort and Bel) have produced to date. I must add that this info is based on everything up to and including the STi, but this info does not include the STi-R or 9500ci since these models were introduced after the specific Escort rep made this comment to me.
