Default Just got painted two mornings in a row in Nor Cal on 80 just before 113 Offramp

I am not sure if this is the correct thread but after having my 9500ix for a few months, i had never heard or seen the laser warning. I thought someone had left their cell phone in my car cause it kinda souned like a cell phone ringing.

Just got painted two mornings in a row in Nor Cal on 80 just before 113 Offramp at the exact same spot???

I looked and looked and could not find a CHP anywhere

What up?? I will look for it again tomorrow but I was told CHP does not use lidar?

This was on I80 which is patrolled by CHP. Has anyone heard o CHP now using lidar in norcal?

I now have to do this stupid commute everyday San Francisco - Sacramento Airport .... and I have a lead foot so ... time for a Laser jammer?

i would live to hear from anyone in Norcal who was painted by lidar on I80 near Sac.

    tnx

CHP uses mostly radar, but they most definitely also use LIDAR. Down here in SoCal, almost all moto units use LIDAR instead of radar. This guy didn't shoot me, but he was definitely CHP and he was definitely shooting an Ultralyte.

I've never been tagged with LIDAR when in NoCal, but I know CHP is moving more and more to LIDAR. With better weather coming up, I think you're going to have to get a jammer, slow down or pay for speeding tickets.

Whoever told you CHP don't use laser were wrong. Especially on major highways with 5+ more lanes, stationary radar is very impractible and almost impossible to use affectivly when busy.

Took a hit on Hwy29 just out of Napa on Sunday. The Leo stepped out from hiding in the bushes! No time to shut down shifters and got the stare as i went by!

P.S Hwy 80 is absolutely notorious for lidar! They like the bottom of the hills looking upward at oncoming traffic. As soon as you come over the hill.............NAILED!

Thank you everyone. I will go for sure for the jammer now. I got painted again this morning, but this time I was on 113 going north about 3 miles north of I80. All within 5 miles of where I got painted the previous two mornings. I now got painted Monday, Tuesday and today Wednesday... Three days in a row all within a five mile radius of intersection of I80 and 113 north.... The bad part is, I could never see the Leo anywhere...

I looked on top of overpasses, in front and behind me, in the bushes, in the median... could not fricken see him anywhere ?????

Anyways, I was wondering everyone's toughs on a medium priced radar jammer for Norcal use?

I read on another site that Laser pro park and laser interceptor are the better ones to get for CA but they are not cheap...

    Any thoughts?

    tnx

I personally prefer the ZR4s over the Blinders, because I think it does better against the TruSpeed, but in your case, due to the higher possibility of Stalker encounters in NoCal, I suggest the Blinder M25, or preferably the M45 for front and back coverage, since it sounds like you're on a budget. With either of these, Veil G4 is a must add-on for consistent performance.

What kind of car do you drive?

    I have an 03 Jetta

I looked at this site which provides some ratings http://www.guysoflidar.com/july-2008...mmer-test.html

it appears that the ZR4 performance is quire a bit less that the top 2. However, it seem it interfaces with my 9500ix isthat a big plus?

Anyways, I will get the veil for sure,

My car has silver metallic paint so I also got a black bra to with the veil. Bra looks pretty getto but who care!! Are there lots folks here who have bras as a counter measure?

should take the dive and go fo the LI or the laser pro park or go for the ZR4 for nor Cal use?

price of one ticket only will pay for the delta for sure.

    what do you think?

Blinder M25 + Veil should protect the front of that car pretty well. Blinder M45 + Veil should protect both the front and the back of that car pretty well.
