IMO I agree...I already checked to see if I could use my Whistler XTR-690SE mount with my Escort 8500....NO!

I better hold on to all my old metal mounts then in case this one breaks. Unless the new ones hold so well I don't have to resort to such trickery just to keep the RD from becoming a projectile?
