Too expensive for my liking though.

Also I think this solved the little Red-Light debate... they are "Alert Lamps" it seems under the "NEW" Features list... thank goodness it says they are programmable!!!!

Edit: SWS on this unit too... what are you doing Escort? Do you guys play roulette to find out which features will and won't make the cut for your next radar detector (or re-badge detector)? Why not leave that dumb s**t out and just make sure worth-while features (GPS) are in!?! And now the LOUD tones.

I swear, they need to hire one of us here so that they make ONE ULTIMATE detector... instead of doing everything great... except adding/subtracting that ONE feature.

Escort making these radar detectors is like a Rally car driver who goes 199miles perfectly, and then takes his hand(s) off the wheel to celebrate his huge lead and "inevitable" victory... and he loses control and flips the car ripping the rear-end out in the last mile... just fail, epic fail.

The manual is available on the website, I'm perusing it now...

It *does* have the scanning dot, with the A/H mode indicator. It also has the voltage display option.
It has 3 brightness levels, plus full dark, and an automatic brightness mode...
The alert lamp can be turned on and off...
    Fast and standard power-up sequences...
Expert and Spec mode displays (the Escort kind, not the Bel threat/tech mode)
    AutoMute on/off
    Voice alerts on/off
Bands: X, K, Ka, POP, SWS, Laser, and TSR (traffic sensor rejection)
There's no invert display feature like the STi has.

Other quirks: There is no CITY mode... only Highway, Auto, and Auto NoX. There's no LOUD mode, so the alert tones are probably the somewhat wimpy standard Escort alerts.

One other quirk/error in the manual. In the introduction, it mentions Ku, but it isn't listed in the programming options. I'm guessing the unit does not have Ku but they accidentally left it in the manual when they cloned it from another manual.

OK, what's with the "antennae" stuff? Are we talking about bugs or something?
