    Default Twin Turbo Antennae? (Redline)

Can across a Redline ad on Sept's Road & Track magazine. Among other details, Escort uses the words "Twin Turbo" to describe their new product in a full page ad on R&T.

Who the heck is the marketing manager for this product?
I've heard and seen through the years of a shower of adjectives to describe products and more specifically radar detectors and Lidar Jammers, but this one definitely takes the cake.

I still have one on order and will keep it that way, but I thought to myself, how in Hades name do you come up with cr@p like this to describe what truly seems to be (so far as the jury's still out) a significant step forward in radar detection/stealth technology.

This is just my 0.02 cents.

    Drive safe.

    R.

I thought the same thing when i saw that. Im like why would you use the words twin turbo to described a rd's antennae, it has no relation what so ever, it makes it seem like escort is a complete joke. There are plenty of different words you can use to describe your detectors long range capabilities. It must have been a friday and he wanted to get out of there i mean who does that? The marketing manager was probably like people love turbos how bout i say it has "twin turbo" antennaes that's awsome

What I don't get, is why they're using "Antennae" to describe RF ANTENNAS. I mean, we're not talking about bugs here. Another marketing buzzword I guess...

Say what? OK........our feable little grip on the difference between the STI Driver and RedLine just went out the window.

Your saying that both detectors use the SAME LNAs? Every add I've seen classify them as NEW. Or did you mean to Say the same as whats in the STI-r......if in fact those are any different than the STI-d?

Just fell out of the boat..........please throw me a rope!
Never did get clarification back on this from Escort. I could have sworn I saw a reference to "New LNA's" used in the RedLine as the principle reason for increased sensitivity. According to the post above from Escort the Antenna's and LNA's are the same between the RedLine and STI ? That leaves me wondering where this improved sensitivity is coming from..........Firmware?

    j,

    Am I missing something here?

Antennae is technically the plural form of antenna. I trust you already know this, so I believe I must not be understanding what your question actually means...

    nine c1,

could mean a slight hardware mod (something akin to a resistor change) while the underlying hardware platform remains otherwise unchanged.

Antennae may technically be the plural form in biology, but I have never seen it used in electronics. So I have to conclude that this was an intentional marketing decision to try and create "buzz" (pun intended). If not, then someone making the marketing decisions must have had more of a background in biology than electronics and didn't know any better, but if so I have to wonder how nobody else caught it.

Well, the owners manual for my X50 is plastered with the words "supercharged performance," this must be the next step up.

Do the "twin turbo antennae" have a turbo-lag to I/O?

    Not bad for 'armchair experts'

Perhaps we should be referred to as 'armchair comedians' as well.
