Escort Passport 8500 X50 problem

Just got this detector and on my drive home it would continuously go to maximum x band alert, k band alert, and sometimes KA band alert. I know there are not any forms of radar around me as I live far out of town. Did i get a defective model?

Sounds like a defective unit to me.

I would send your X50 in to Escort. Sounds like a defective unit unless LEOs in your area use I/O X, I/O K, and I/O Ka band. I would feel sorry for you

Well I would be driving, and it would show maximum x-band. It would than slowly go down and stop for 5-20 seconds than would come up again with an alert, sometimes the same, sometimes different and do the exact same thing.

It was bought brand new at a futureshop

Does anyone think a poor power cable would be the source of the problem?

I was using it with a cable from an old radar detector and my old one would sometimes do a similar thing.

Anyways, I hooked it up to the new cable that came with it- hopefully it will work now.
