Anyone else have this issue?

I must have a windshield that is angled a lot...

I mount my RX65 or X50 to the upper left of my rear-view mirror. To get my detector level though (yes, I actually used a level), I had to bend the windshield mounting bracket to the point where the nubs of the suction cups rub up against the detector.

It makes for a nice, snug fit but does anyone else have to bend theirs that much?

Yes I did when I had my 65, but it never fell down!

i am constantly bending my mount when i got car from car with no problem...out ever the suction cups can were out so make sure to soak them in water over night every once in awhile

I have that problem on my cars. In fact even when I bend it all the way back like that, the detector still isn't level and is pointing up in the air. So I got a visor clip from Roy and use that. I mount it directly to the vehicle headliner, it works great and the detetcor is 100% level.

Yea, I have that problem with my x50 when I mount it high up on my windshield. I just stuck some cushining at the end of the detector to keep it level.

I let a friend use my RX in a Cavalier yesterday, aimed up quite a bit when placed above the mirror, it was a short trip though, and it seemed to work with just a small loss in range.

One other thing I just noticed...

I thought that the X50 was pointed slightly up, but it turns out it was actually level.

I was using a level on the underside of the X50, but then I lined up the level with the "crease" on the side of the X50. The crease/line along the side of the X50 showed that it was actually level, where if I put the level on the underside it was pointing slightly up.

The bottom/underside of the X50 is not that straight...
