Default Redline / Highway / Beast

Just made a quick highway trip today and ran the Redline & V1 to compare again, had been running just Redline. Anyway had to make good time so was moving down the road at a quick pace....Redline was outstanding on KA today, owned the V1 about 4 times, Im talking by 10-12 seconds, sometimes no alert at all from V1 until much further down the road. In short I dont know if the Redline has any glitches or not but it can sure get you some great saves. Just telling like it is....

Yeah, members here seem to downplay the sensitivity advantage the Belscort M3s have over all other RDs as insignificant. There are times when my 9500ci just amazes me.

If the Redline had a reliable method of alerting if it's detecting a LEO and a false at the same time I'd have one right now. My RX-65 in threat (expert) mode only shows one K-band source where my V1 picks up 2 or 3. I'm not sure of the RL is the same way, but since it's still limited to just 2 K band alerts at a time I would imagine so. And there needs to be an audio alert that it detects a new signal. Even the "multiple signals detected" from the 9500ix would be acceptable, but I haven't heard anyone say it does that.

I hated on the RL at first for the lip the buttons are on, but I've forgiven it after seeing videos of it in use that show it doesn't block the display and it's far more practical for mounting against the headliner...

It seems like the glitches are fixed..

But the bogey counter... not even the arrows, just the counter, is the reason I bought a V1 after I got a ticket because I was blinded by a false. I want to like the RL but I can't risk that happening again, and my "engaged to be engaged" girlfriend wouldn't understand why I'd want to hack up my car and run a remote unit and a V1 at the same time. I don't even understand it, when it seems like my reservation with the RL could be fixed in the firmware...

I'm not trying to troll, I'm just frustrated.

My point here is that the Redline has great raw performance, so if you drive the highway much it will make some great saves. As far as the lip its no problem at all, the Redlines not for everyone but it sure works for me.

I thought I recalled in the only real test that the Redline had performance not much greater than V1.

Perhaps i am remembering incorrectly due to

On another note, has any testing been done as to how the V1 and Redline interact when powered on simultaneously? Is it possible the Redline interfered with the V1, or vice versa? Neither detector is stealth and could be susceptible to this.

A really cool thing to do next time you have a constant on radar source would be to loop around, go to the point where you first get an alert with the Redline and pull over, and then power up each detector individually and see if the Redline's range is superior to the V1.

If the V1 picks up nothing, slowly drive forward until it gets its first alert. Then power off, plug in the Redline, and see how far up the alert ramp the Redline is.

Of course, a video of this would be great.

    Just a thought.

This ticket was on a highway.

Whether through maliciousness or chance I've seen LEOs set up near falses, so it's a real threat for me. It drives me crazy that my detector doesn't have the best range, but I can't prove I ever got a ticket for lack of range.

I should probably complain to Escort, "Hey, I want to give you guys $500, but..."

It sure seems like the Redline is a beast.

Would have to agree, the Redline is a beast on the Highway, I just got done with a 5400 mile road trip and Redline performed very well. I still like the V1 a little better due to the arrows and the rear antenna system. If Redline implements the arrows/rear antenna sometime in the future, I will like the Redline a little better than the V1. Both have strengths & weaknesses.

Several times running my STI and my V1, my STI would alert to ka 34.7 over 5 miles away that my V1 would miss. I can only imagine how well the Redline does on 34.7. I am shocked at some of DJ's videos of his CI on 35.5 and 34.7. QT is still a threat, but most LEO's I encounter hold the trigger long enough for the belscorts to alert to.
