I've read both of those posts, and I can't for the life of me see how they "know it was QT". No clear evidence given. Neither was running a V1 at the same time (see below).

Besides, I only give my opinion on MY surroundings, not yours. I wouldn't know if QT was used in your area, but I KNOW it's not in mine. If I have to explain I will.

When I use my V1, and have run into brief bursts of radar, they ALWAYS last at least 5-7 seconds. Now, being I've used a V1 since about 2000, I know it DOES NOT hold onto a signal like a Belscort does. Long story short, I/O is used around here, but really only a very small percentage of the time. Every time I use a Belscort I get the same signals, although they last a bit longer, about 12-17 seconds. I believe that's because Belscorts hold a signal ("trailing alert") for between 3-8 seconds.

Your description of how I would not know if QT was used in my area (i.e. only running a Belscort) also confirms for me the fact that if a Belscort user supposedly gets a ticket for QT, then they couldn't possibly know it was QT, correct??? There wasn't a V1 present to verify.....

Can't recall which member it is, but someone on here runs a 9500ci and has gotten alerts on it his V1 (running together) has missed.

When QT is used with a parked LEO either over a hill, around a curve, off axis, or hidden behind trees...what would you say the average distance is between them and the vehicle being targeted when the LEO pushes his finger? Even if the RD alerts immediately, from a short distance and high excessive speed what good does an alert do if you haven't gotten any forewarning from vehicles well in front?

I remember that post, it sure seemed awful far fetched to me as well. Seemed like a creative writing assignment, if you know what I mean...

Two questions. First: I've got a direct-wire kit that came with a V1 (iirc) which has always worked for powering my Valentine as well as an 8500 / 8500 x50 I had at some point or another. Does the Redline use the same style connector with the same polarity? Would like to avoid having to re-route / splice another direct-wire kit if possible; it's kind of a hassle in my car.

And while I've read through many an archived Redline thread here on the forum, I haven't come across much that definitively says that QT is its Achilles' heel. I'm sure you guys know more than I do -- what's the story there?
You should be able to use the BLUE escort hardwire kit to wire up your redline... if you really wanted to run something blue :-)

It does not bother me. Looks pretty cool. I'm not a big fan of the yellow light though.

Maybe just me, but the blue really hurts my eyes. Got rid of a perfectly good 9500ix because of it.
