Are the undetectable detectors REALLY undetectable?

I've been reading a lot of articles and forum posts about cops lately that seem convinced that their RDD's can pick up ***ANY*** radar detector in North America, and that there is NO SUCH THING as an Undetectable Detector.

So I would just like to confirm - the RedLine, STi Driver and 9500ci - those are really undetectable right? Like - 100% undetectable? Not - "the cop will probably interpret the signal as being a false signal" kind of undetectable? I would be completely safe running one of those detectors as far as RDD's are concerned?

We have had members in here who have tested and confirmed that the Redline is indeed undetectable. I have seen footage of this on YouTube as well.

Most cops also think that laser jammers don't work. Something that is disproved here every day. It is often difficult for a person to realize that they don't know something..

We like to keep it that way to, as long as they think that it give us an hedge. They can't pick up the Redline, Sti, or ci so we going to leave it that way. I was on another forum and this officer said that the laser jammer is no good that it just a piece of **** or something like that.

I told him that do you think that and he said yes and I said okay and leaf it like that.

I am going to taint this a little bit. If you read that thread, you will also find suspicion that the LEO stated something like "Don't you know we can detect those things?". This appears to be throwing the OP off from the likely fact that the RD was likely discovered by other means. That is a very vague way of describing the situtation on the part of the LEO.

Was this a defective unit? Does the stealth on the Redline not work? I'll leave you to read it and draw your own conclusion. But I will say that there is plenty of footage on YouTube of the stealth of the Redline being tested. In fact the ony one I saw was a few inches away (which would not happen in real life (the spectre stays in the officer's car). My belief is the LEO was hiding the fact that maybe someone had reported it, he looked into the car while passing by one day, or some other situation that may not be OK where they live.

I also saw testing of this feature either buy Guys Of Lidar or the notorious Speed Measurement Labs that seems to validate the stealth of the redline.

sorry for not posting links here, I'm in a hurry to get out the door this morning. Please do search this stuff and draw your own conclusion. It would be nice to post links here as I have failed to do, so others who are pondering this can see them too.

Finsl note: Yes, that guys Redline was nabbed. What a lousy neighbor that guy was. I would be handing out eggs and shaving cream this holloween if it were me. I'm just sayin!

Does anyone here drive the Mercedes Benz S550 with the UV windshield and if so where do you have your RD mounted? I received my Redline yesterday and currently I have it mounted low on the windshield, but I want to mount it higher next to the rearview mirror. I want to ensure that the UV windshield doesn't interfere with the RD operating properly and I don't want it to be so visible.

OP, yes, there are detectors that are not detectable, but nothing is perfect in this world.

X2......tint or no tint you can still see some stuff through the windows, do you have a tint strip at the top of your windsheild?
