I was in the same position a couple months ago i bought the refurb... it worked great but then i got thinking if this thing is the best range for the price what is the best range like... needless to say i bought a V1 5 months later haha loved that detector still use it as a back up and works great... send it in before the warranty is up for the tune up... its worth it
