I haven’t seen any more issues with the RedLine than any other RD, even the V1. But if this is true we should point this out to Escort.

RedLines seem to be overheating, they're hot as hell just from taking a drive with one. When we went to the NJ meet and I ran aa2033's RedLine it was hot as ****. This is probably due to the detector being stealth, and Escort not fully thinking out that the detector might need a small fan installed into the detector. Definitely the hottest detector I've ever felt after use.

Thanks, i definitely will look into it and share with Escort. My RedLine gets hot but it always seemed like any other RD. Interesting part is the STi and 9500ci don’t seem to have an overheating problem.

Not really enough to assume a real problem, but it is interesting being the first batch definitely had some issues.

Didn't Escort Radar post on the forum that it is normal for the Redline to get hot?

Yes, and all RD's get really hot so im not seeing that's the problem at all. My 9500ix got just as hot as my RedLine, but the RedLines magnesium case seems to disperse it more evenly so its hotter all over. STi & 9500ci use the same antenna and don't have issues because of heat.

IMO its a just because its new and we are hyper sensitive to issues with new products. I have only seen a handful of issues on RD.net and the Escorts forum. Which is nothing looking at the big picture.

The Redline always ran pretty damn hot as if you've left it in the sun all day long. I used the accessory clip to attach it to the visor and thought that it might just be overheating which didn't do beans. It's definately some kind of hardware failure as it instantly goes into service mode upon power up. I shipped it back to Escort today so we'll see what happens. At least they incorporated some kind of alert to let you know the detector **** the bed instead getting owned with zero warning.
