Default Is there any difference in sensitivity...

between the Auto setting on the 9500ix and the Highway setting. I know that the Auto setting is supposed to adjust based on speed however I have noticed that others have recommended the sensitivity setting be set on HIghway all of the time. Can anyone help me with this? Will I still get the range on Auto in all situations so I don't have to switch back and forth? Thanks!!

With the 9500ix, leave it in highway mode all the time. You'll get better k band sensitivity and won't be bothered with falses after they've been locked out. In most of my encounters, I need more range in the city because of denser traffic, more curves, and hills. Highways are long and flat. Plus, the limits are lower, so I'm usually more over the limit in a 30 compared to a 60.

Ka is the same in highway and auto.

The problem is that there is a lot of falses in all spectrums here but the 9500ix seems to lock out KA as well as K bands more quicklyin the Auto mode as opposed to being in the Highway mode. Have you noticed that as well?

9500ix cannot lock out KA band.

Above 45mph Automode is EXACTLY the same as highway mode.
Below that...it filters X-band and K-band more aggressively but KA-Band is still high priority.

I leave mine on highway since I drive the same routes and all falses are locked out anyway.

As for auto-locking out of signals, its the same in all modes. Drive past the same signal a few times and it will automatically lock out that section of the frequency spectrum and if you happen to drive past there again...and the signal has disappeared for a few times. It will unlock itself automatically, my 9500ix is pretty good about figuring out whats a door opener by itself through auto-lock since the frequency of those door openers tend to be pretty far off range from the 24.150 the local PD uses.

Auto or Highway...doesn't matter. Both are fine for use, but highway gives you higher K band sensitivity if you know your local cops still run K.

It should lock out K and X in both modes. Highway mode is better.

Also, I've seen real K threats that are 24.252, so don't judge K by spec mode. I like expert mode for the 9500ix.

Thanks for the info. This really helps out alot. I will keep it on highway and eventually it will filter out all of the falses which alot of them it has already done. Thanks again!!

you can also manually lock out too by hitting the mute switch 3x on your smart cord or hardwire.

[QUOTE=TwoLitersOfFury;884587]9500ix cannot lock out KA band.

Can you tell me why this is? I have been able to filter out many K band falses and I thought Ka band as well. Thanks.
