Default First post from a lurker

Been lurking around the forums for a few weeks now, despite not being able to view any pictures, still learning a lot

I got a Valentine 1 for my birthday about 7 years ago, and was always really happy with it until it got stolen out of my car in november of last year (the one time I leave it out, someone busts into the car). Drove without an RD for a few months, and then realized that even "responsible" speeding at 10mph above the speed limit, will still get you nailed, and investing a couple hundred in an RD beats the cost of a ticket and insurance jump easily.

So, I did some research, was considering Escort 9500xi, then saw the 9500ci and how nice that is, and then realized spending $2400 (after install) on an RD is a bit extreme Especially when Escort doesn't have the directional arrows. So I went with the V1 again, because I already knew all the audio alerts, and really loved the arrows and otherwise never had any problems with it.

Now, reading on this forum I'm thinking I need some laser jamming protection, since all I have now is knowing that I'm getting hit with LIDAR, but absolutely no means to protect myself from it. Laser Interceptor seems to be the way to go, but that's pricey too, so I need to do some more reading. So, hopefully I can ask some dumb questions in those forums, and get my post count up to 25 and start really enjoying the forum!

My equipment: V1 running the latest software, hard wired in my 06 TSX. Hard wiring is definitely the way to go -- now I'm trying to convince all my other friends with V1 to get that annoying dangling cable from their lighter outlet to their windshield out of the way, and nicely tuck one away into the head liner without using up their lighter outlet

Oh, forgot to mention -- to add to the equipment, I'm running Trapster on my iPhone! Very neat app, and while it is a bit inconvenient at times, the concept is a really great idea, and I'm glad someone is finally using collective knowledge of the masses to help unmask those hiding police

The difference between LI and the rest is this, with the LI you just install it and you're done, with everything else you have to Veil your lights and such to help the jammer perform at top level.

How much did that setup cost you?
