First I was under the impression that anywhere behind the bumper would be fine. But on other posts it seems that some folks have problems with metallic paint or other issues so I was thinking maybe behind the plastic mesh would be fine.

    Thoughts?

Sounds like a plan.... you talked me into it....

cat & M6D: either one of you used veil on you vette/M6?

Any thoughts on whether I should use it on the M3?

M6D: have your tested your installation? Did the chrome grill present any problems?

No Veil for either of us, I have Veil on the F-150 but not the Vette. Yes we tested his system last weekend. It was pretty solid.

I'm gonna get jumped good for this (several people will disagree with me on this), but I'm finding the V1 gives me better radar detection than the 9500ci antenna. I'm going to keep running both, because there have been a couple of times when the 9500 alerted first, but you may want to consider a V1 and an LI instead of the 9500ci.

If you're not in a rush, you may want to wait and see what I think in a few weeks. I've had this setup for a while now, but probably less than 10 real radar threats, so perhaps my findings aren't statistically significant. Plan to test Ka 35.5 this week; be looking for those results later.

My laser setup isn't bulletproof; I was extremely weak against the LR-B, but I don't think you'll see many of those in Georgia. Hope not, anyway.

I already have a V1 but I was looking for a remote installation and I've heard nothing but good things about escort/bel radar detection. I am definitely not in a hurry so I'll wait and see. I guess even if the V1 proves to alert better on occasion, as long as the 9500ci is adequate, I would prefer the integrated solution. Though the comments on less-than-stelar laser protection are a whole other issue.

But since I'm in no big rush, I'll keep asking questions and getting more information and hopefully make the best decision for me in the next few weeks/months

I find it hilarious that even though M6D and I have the exact same setup, we have opposite results on V1 vs 9500ci detection and LR-B results. My LIs crush the LR-B.

You have superior LIs. You have superior radar detection. I want to be like DJ when I grow up!

You also have never run our test course. If you did I fear the results might be different.

I too wonder why M6D's radar reception on the 9500ci is not better. I have seen his setup and everything looks good. I am thinking we should swap radar heads to see if there is a difference.

That's the key. Don't grow up. It has always worked for me.
