Welcome to the forum. For starters, do you do most of your driving on the highway or in the city?

I wouldn't be speeding in BC. Their paramedics have been on strike for three months.

I do most of my drivin on the city when im using my old honda civic. But i'm almost ready to insure my zx6r again. I don't want to get in any traffic troubles anymore, so i guess a radar detector purchase is the best thing to do. I can't keep trying to evade law, but sometimes they force me. But i've already learned what happens when they catch you. OUCH.....

Yes, we are super lucky here in BC, because RD is legal here. Now if i can only afford one.

just thinking about a speeding ticket makes my blood boil.

Did i mention that im very happy to join this forum????

does anybody know if im protected from the rear w/ the radar detector aswell when installed on a motorcycle?

So a V1??? I've never ever pictured my self buying an expensive r/d before. But i guess its a must when you're always on the road, and when traffic fines are extremely expensive.

Can somebody please describe to me what will happen if i buy a cheap r/d, compared to the 300+ dollar ones, such as the V1 and other highend ones?

I think i know where i can get a passport 8500, but not new?? I'm unsure though, i don't wanna buy twice.

thanks for advice and reply guys. trully appriciated.

You don't necessarily need to get an expensive one. You just have to get a good one. V1 is top of the line, but you can certainly get more than adequate protection for half that price. The 8500s or the Bel Vector series are both good budget bets. Performance is not V1 calibre, but still quite good. The main thing you lose for the money is features.

A quality radar detector will also receive well from the rear. Of course, only the V1 will tell you that it's the rear that you are receiving
