HELLO I AM JACOBUS AND LIVING IN SOUTH AFRICA. I WONDER IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME? I HAVE A V1 3.872 AND IT DOES NOT PICK UP THE TRAFIXPATROLE XR LASER GUN. IS THIS NORMAL OR IS IT A SETTING "PROGRAME" PROBLEM THAT I CAN REPROGRAME IN THE SETTINGS MENU

I'm not sure why the V1 isn't picking up a laser gun. The V1 is unusually very sensitive to IR light. Does the V1 alert to other laser guns or other IR sources? Mine falses frequently to non police sources.

Frankly if you are concerned about laser enforcement, no laser detection scheme will save you. You need to get a laser jammer.

The V1 has trouble detecting the TraffiPatrol XR. I was the driver in the car at the last GoL and had my V1 mounted and the V1 had lots of trouble detecting the TraffiPatrol XR on every run. The detection was sporadic at best, even when shot directly at the car with a V1 in it. I believe that the V1 is actually detecting the signal just fine, but is ignoring what it is detecting, because the pulse rate is higher than what it thinks a laser gun should be. Your V1 is working normally.

If you are expecting the V1 to detect a signal when other cars around you are the target, this is extremely unlikely.

It doesn't matter much anyhow. The V1 is not adequate protection against this gun. You need a jammer.

thanks , i have a li quad and work well but the v1 is only 1 week in my car and the trafixpatrole xr was the first hit while using the v1. I just wonder is it working propperly?

IS THE V1 CAPABLE OF PICKING IT UP BECAUSE THE PPS OF THIS LASERGU SHIFT BY 3-4 KHZ ??

THANKS YOUR INFO HELPS A LOT. I HAVE A LI QUAD THAT WORKS WELLLLLLL VERY WELL. I BUY THE V1 JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN INTERFACE IT WITH THE LI BUT I WILL TAKE YOUR WORD FOR IT. I DO NOT NEED THE V1 AS A LASER DETECTOR I JUST ACUALLY NEED IT TO KNOW IF I WAS HIT FROM THE FRONT OR THE BACK. THANKS THIS HELPS A GREAT DEAL.

My V1 detects XR but it does struggle at times with only intermittent alerts as DJ indicated.

I have a jeep 4ltr laredo and the v1 is just above the rearview mirror but below the tinted strip at the top of the windscreen??

That too is where mine is located. The XR utilizes are very high frequency that perhaps the V1 is filtering out not on purpose sort of speak but as a function of it's design to not false to other non-LIDAR IR sources such as Neon signs, HCMSL on GM vehicles and the like. At least you have detection and jamming from the LI so to me, it is a moot point.
