Yes, they are all in my car. The BCT8 is programmed for my county and when on long journeys, it is running BearTracker. The BCT15 is programmed for my county, plus the surrounding ones. The BCD996T is programmed for everything else. I use this mostly when I'm out of the state.

I'd like my GPS to be. I'm looking at the Garmin 755t... opinions?
have you done any of the "cueball" drives? I heard through the grape vine there are a couple being planned.
I have a 8830 and the newest version of Trapster is crashing on it when I make setting changes. Trapster does run well on my Garmins though.

As for what Garmin to get, I like the newest ones with all the features. When I purchased my Nuvi 5000, I should have done more research and gotten the 760 as it has a battery and bluetooth. 6 months ago I would have gotten the 855T but now I'm looking at the 1690.

    Welcome to the forums.

I'm from NY and in your area. Thats the Citibank building in Long Island City. Seems that if you use the LIE, the NYPD uses laser now. On the Clearview, it depends but mostly laser also. I've seen them use K/Ka band but thats as rare as a blue moon.

The Cross Island Parkway, All laser. No more radar. Northern Parkways and Southern State, same thing.

I'm in upstate and believe me, laser is alive and well on the NYS thruway. I've never been stopped once with my V1 for any normal radar, but I've been stopped twice for laser. (Night time, so I couldn't see the officers until my V1 went off...). Only seem to get stopped for speeds greater than 80mph as well. I've driven right past officers with the V1 going of at 78mph and have never been stopped. I traveled the thruway every weekend for almost 5 years going between Syracuse and Albany areas.

yeah, i'm actually on the other side of the river, but of course I do wind up on the nyst a bit. I actually got hit with laser between exits 16 and 17 a week ago. I was only doing about 65 though. a trucker radioed back his location- (saved by the CB!)

I've been thinking of getting a CB for this reason too....

very much worth it in my opinion, especially in our area, because there isnt as much meaningless chatter on 19. (as I get close to the city, i shut off my pre-amp and crank the squelch so i conly hear close transmissions) I've had many saves on the thruway, I-84 and Taconic State Parkway..
also, i see you have a f-250- you have tons of mounting options for an antenna, and probably a decent amount of room for a nice size cb--
