    Default NY driver

    Good morning from NY-

I have changed my driving style through the years, and have become more interested in endurance driving, made more enjoyable through the assistance of electronic countermeasures.

I have my 2004 A4 Quattro currently equipped with:
-V1- hardwired just below the rearview mirror
-Midland 75-822 mini CB- hardwired, and amplified.. "to 4w."
-RadioShack triple trunking scanner- programmed for almost all of NY
-Laird 24" scanner antenna, paired to a Laird trunk lip mount
-Laird 49" CB antenna, paired to a Laird trunk lip mount
-Mio GPS (on its way to a secondary position in the car as a back up)

    By the way;
I'm interested in NY, NJ, CT drives/rallies, and advice on linear amp installations and GPS recommendations.

    Welcome aboard, nice toys.
Do you have any laser where you are? More and more down here in the southern tier, that is why i invested in a Blinder M47.

I was considering the investment, I have picked up a few laser shots, but have been lucky enough to not be speeding at the times (never thought I;d say this, but luckily there was traffic!)
where are you located? I'm on the Putnam/Westchester line

Laser is definitely an issue in this area, I would recommend doing some research and seriously considering your options.

As far as GPS, I find TomTom devices are more user friendly, but Garmin's seem to process information much faster. Test them out hands-on to see what works best for you.

i'll start looking at some options, It's becoming more and more important to have laser protection.. I take a lot of longer drives, out of state, and I see the need for it more every trip- the CB has saved me a lot recently too. what BB do you have- my curve isnt very trapster friendly. I'd like my GPS to be. I'm looking at the Garmin 755t... opinions?
have you done any of the "cueball" drives? I heard through the grape vine there are a couple being planned.

I was actually looking at your set up last week-- I'm a bit envious of a few of your toys.. how much did the thermal cam run you? I doubt thats affordable for me.. I'm saving for my GPS, then probably jammers next, as far as major purchases go at least. I have a couple small things planned for this week and next

Thermal camera ran me 1500, but they can be found (exact model, 300D) for 2k on ebay.

Welcome to the forum. I'd get a laser jammer before a GPS if I were you. Laser is alive and well in your area:
