instead of a scanner get a cb radio, you will get much better value for your money. The V1 is great for open areas life you will use it for, northern Wisconsin is like the UP of Michigan.

RDs are only illegal in Virginia and Washington DC. They are legal in every other state. RDs are also legal in Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC, but are illegal in the rest of Canada.

Good decision, you will be very satisfied with your choice. If lasers are used in your area, research those countermeasures on this forum too. BTW, welcome aboard.
