Yes, I know that the V1's are MUCH different from the early years and is really the detector that all others are measured against---no question that it is (probably and/or arguably) the best dash mount there is---but when I spent the BIG bucks (at the time, I think they were about $300---LOTTA money back then) and VR wouldn't update my unit (I think they wanted ANOTHER $200) to address my very early units poor Ka band performance---well, it just soured me to VR. If they would've just been reasonable about updating it, no doubt that is what would be hanging on my windshield today---the late versions are fantastic detectors, no question about it. Even my early version saved me COUNTLESS times againt LASER speed traps---it was SUPER sensitive to laser scatter. And, the directional arrows are FAR more useful than folks can imagine---once you've had 'em, used 'em and seen 'em in action, hard to switch to a detector that doesn't----

I see that you have both an S7 and M4. Does your experience between the two match up with my observations? Or do you prefer the M4?

Overall I prefer the S7 detection wise the off axis is way better & laser detection is great not that it really matters
