    Default Howdy

Greetings from the great rocky mountains - great to be here! After getting nailed by laser and getting 2 tickets in as many weeks, I figured it's time to invest in some countermeasures. Ordered a LI Dual + V1.

V1 will go up immediately, LI should be mounted up in the next couple of weeks (pics will be posted - don't worry).

Previously I had a Bel Express 795 which, for the price ($35 at Circuit City), was an amazing detector. Very reasonable detection distances, saved me from more tickets than I can shake a stick at. After many years of faithful service, however, it was eventually retired when it's oscillator had destabilized enough that it's detection ranges were nearly useless. I went for 1.5 years without a detector and (luckily) without a ticket until BAM! Two tickets in two weeks...

So here I am. From all the lurking I did before I bought (I was going back and forth on a V1 vs a Redline), I have to say this is a great place and the body of knowledge that has accumulated on these forums is vast.

Welcome to the forum flyboy and yes there is a wealth of info here.Great choice on the V1,LI combo you want be disappointed with that setup. As you read up on the info here you will find out that with your combo that you will be able to use it correctly. Your eyes and using a rabbit is a much also but you know about that already.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'd like to think I'm fairly well versed on tactics and how to use a detector/rabbit/jammer, but there is always learning to do :-P Just go the V1 installed (permanent wire ran) and its amazing. Certainly far more sensitive than my old detector.
