Thanks for the info guys! I'm relieved to find out that it's just a part of the production process and like everyone has said, will not affect performance.

2 of the 3 photos have the background nicely in focus...

Is there no macro setting on the camera?

IMO, whether performance is effected by these imperfections is irrelevant.

A new product should be new in every way, without exception.

After all, the items condition is what separates "New" from "Used" and why New items cost more than Used items. right?

What if you decided you wanted to sell your LI without installing it? Good luck selling something as "New" on Ebay if it has glue and scratches all over it.

I would exchange them if I were in your shoes, but that is me. My jammers were flawless out of the box, not even even a finger print.

I know what you mean and I'm glad you understand my concern. This is why I asked if anyone else who ordered the LI brand new had the same thing and it looks they do. I just thought I got a used LI unit from those production blemishes.

What jammers do you have? LI?

FWIW my LI setup came without any marks or glue on the heads.

Perhaps my local distributor cleaned them before mailing, I don't know, but from what I've read in this thread I wouldn't be too concerned.

I own a LPP, the LI was not being sold retail yet when I was shopping for a replacement to my Zr3 a while back. I am very intrigued with the LI, I may own someday.

Good luck with your LI, perhaps a conversation with LI customer service will yield a positive solution.

While it is true that "condition" is what separates new from used, "condition" is comprised of many things other than physical appearance. For example, I would be far more concerned with whether the unit had been installed before I would be concerned about whether it was scratched.

Physical appearance is usually a good indicator of new / used, but not always...

Clearly you don't understand what I am saying. What I am talking about is getting what you paid for! This is the foundation of being a smart consumer.

You pay a extra premium ($$$) when you buy New items, because they are supposed to be flawless, and obviously, never used.

If you and I both buy the same item, we both pay the same amount of money for it, mine is in perfect condition, but yours is scratched and has glue on it, which one of us has been giped?

    Get it?
