    Default Install kill switch?

Trying to figure out what to do with this switch in my civic....
I have a free accessory panel that may just barely be wide enough but the thing has a ton of plastic in the back I'd need to cut out.

Haven't installed a switch before so looking for advice.

I attached some pictures so you guys could get a better idea...

check out the civic parts list, chances are they make a panel that goes in there that is made for a button that doesn't have all the bracing behind it. if they dont, should just take some careful dremeling, making sure to leave in the clamps on the outside edges.

x2, awesome place for a kill switch though nonetheless

That's a ridiculous amount of bracing from a little tiny panel!

    I'd Dremel it.

Dumb question probably but where do I find this parts list?

Found this on the honda OEM site but all they offer is the same damn panel with all the plastic bracing

I went off to the side of the blank switch port (about an inch or so) and drilled a hole. With the blank port cover off, you can feel with your finger to be sure there is adequate clearance for the drill bit and the switch.

Try to pick a location where you can see the switch at a glance to be sure the power-on light is on. Most important is to be able to reach it easily to power it off at appropriate times.

The drill bit I used is one of those multi-step bits that cost about $10 or so at Harbor Freight Tools. I think I paid around $10 for a set of three different ones when they were on sale. You just keep going one step larger until the LI switch fits perfectly.

That would be fine except my lease is up in 2 years and I don't know how I'd feel about taking my chances returning it with a hole drilled in the dash.....
