    Default Basic Information

    Guys...............

I have been reading this fourm for some time and I made my Radar Detector desision from this web site, and my shifter was an ease of use thing.

    Any way my question is,

Can LASER guns detect shifters (jammers) if so how and what guns can and can't Im feeling like i should shut off my shifter in the fact that im going to get roasted for shifting.....

And In BC it is ilegal and on the island like the lowermain land laser is every were and the one and only ticket i have in my name is because of laser, But the last thing i need is a Notice to apeare in cort because of a shifter.

    Some Input would be nice

    Thanks

Here's a breakdown based on the different laser guns used in North America:

Kustom Prolaser I, II, III = do not indicate jamming.

LTI 20-20/Marksman/Ultralyte = No jammer tested by Guys of LIDAR has ever triggered a JAM indication on any LTI gun. The only jammers that will do this are old "high frequency" jammers such as the Lidatek LE-10 and the Target LE-850.

Stalker LZ-1 = E04 indicates jamming. However, it comes up VERY frequently on cars without any jammer at all, so this by itself isn't suspicious.

Laser Atlanta = Just recently added a software update to indicate jamming. This feature hasn't been thoroughly tested independently yet, and there are probably VERY few of these guns in use since this feature is so new.

LIDAR guns are capable of reporting a JAM however most of them either just fail to get your speed or report an error condition E04 that could also be caused by sun reflections, day time running lights, etc.

Regardless you should ALWAYS shut off your jammer when a LEO is targeting you with LIDAR. Once you are at legal speed, don't interfer with a LEO doing his job.

Yeah but your post was still very relevant. Especially the part about shutting it off once at legal speed, that part can't be stressed enough!

    Stalker LIDAR:

E-04 comes from bright car lights. Xenon or not hasn't been decided.
Sunlight and the settign sun facing West, does this very easily too.

LTI. Their jam code is E-07 same thing. I've gotten this off the Glint of sunlight along side a car in a shaded driveway once too.........

Odds are you could convince the LEO any bright light can produce this "code".........
When in doubt, point at the sun or headlight.
