Default Help in protecting a MDX from laser

Have a 2009 MDX. Wife's car. She has a lead foot.

Yes, I have read a lot on here the past several days but cannot find any suggestions for this particular vehicle.

Open to suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Pictures attached.

Gonna have to cut that grille!!!

My recommendation would be a LI Quad. Rear can go under the lip where the license plate is and as far apart as possible. Front will require cutting the grille and as close to headlights as possible.

Since I know you don't want to cut the grille this amy be an option for you in a few months: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...r-jammers.html

4 Head LI (On Vette) (7.11 CPU Regular heads front, HP Heads on the rear)
    9500ci (On Vette)

LI Quad (On Ice Cream Truck)

LI Dual (On SRX, 7.06 CPU)

ProLaser II, ProLaser III, Stalker LZ-1, LTI Marksman & Laser Atlanta "R" (looking for an Ultralyte LRB)

You are right, I don't want to cut the grill.

Thanks for the link. Saw that thread the other day but cannot see the pics as my post count is not high enough yet.

Question, do you recommend the LI because it is the best or because of all the shinny elements Acura decided to decorate the car with? Just curious.

Both, that and it's a big vehicle with a lot of chrome.

    Thanks, appreciate the advice.

Do you think the side view mirrors present a problem aside from the front of the vehicle?

Good luck protecting side mirrors, luckily they are hard to hit and take a long time to acquire a lock.

That's what I figured but they look like a nice target.

Forgot to ask earlier but would your recommendation by a LI Quad just for the front or for the whole vehicle?

    Appreciate your input.

According to my wife she never speeds, but I know different.

2F/2R, but I would ask cliff what he thinks. You can always go Quad HP if you have concerns. I know for a fact that HP's will protect anything!!

Well, at least there is some good news. Your rear end can be easier protected than your front end, which is extremely rare! The mounting positions on either side of your licence plate are ideal, keeping the heads close to both the tail lights and the plate! Most people only wish they had that kind of mounting option on the rear! I think I'd go HP just for peace of mind though.

On the front, Category4 is right. Currently there really is no option but to cut your grille. And despite your reluctance, I would bet that the cost of a grille is a lot less than the ultimate cost of a speeding ticket. Besides, are you planning on selling the car soon?

Is there an aftermarket grill that would make things easier?

Does your wife like that car? I know somebody who looked at them but couldn't get past the blind spot. They didn't care that it had that blind spot system.

SS, I know you don't know crap about cars, but if you can afford a 2nd generation MDX you can afford many LIs or tickets. It's driver's decision.
