If the jammer manufacturers could just use a lens to make a wide diverging beam I think this would do it.
Drive-Smart is going to be using 4 laser diodes. If they wanted to get really technical they could have half of the laser diodes covered with just a flat cover and the other half of the head would be covered with a convex lens. The wide beam produced by the lens would catch the overpass traps and the straight beam would prevent the conventional traps.

The only hard part about this is sealing both of those different sized lenses together.
Drive-Smart might even claim he can jam this kind of speed trap every time. I'm excited to see what he thinks. I hope anti-laser gives us some ideas too.
I vote NO i will not fork the money on a jammer that does not jam overpass laser shots from the rear but then again i think D-S jammer will do the tricki still think they will have something for this issue.
It's interesting how none of the jammer manufacturers have chimed in to say they can jam this type of speed trap.

They probably don't want us thinking about that yet because then the current units will be "BRAND NEW OBSOLETE UNITS" and thats not a really good marketing point is it?
Boy oh boy this is going to get really interesting if GoL does this kind of test. Can you imagine how the jammer companies would **** their pants once they saw videos of NO jamming taking place. Over 50% of the members who voted already said they wouldn't purchase that expensive of a jammer if the jammer didn't jam in that type of scenario.

Very very good questions.
We will be testing this type of jamming hopefully next week as long as the rain holds off(April showers!LOL).
In the UK the Police and safety van operators are trained and always target the number plate of your vehicle.
The main issue would be from what range you would be targeted,In theory the longer the targeted range the wider the beam from the jammer would be so you should have some success.
But for example the windscreen was targeted at 200-300 feet from a bridge then I would say it would be almost impossible to jam even with something to spread the beam say for example a wide angled lens.
You could angle the laser diodes at say 30-40 degrees and you could probably jam ok,But this would depend on the distance you were targeted at.As at 40 degrees at 1000 feet would have you targeting most commercial aircraft in the area.
We have a theroy about how to jam from a bridge mounted gun but will not post anything until the idea has been tested.
I think that if any company were able to come up with a unit that can succesfully jam this type of attack on the motorist from all angles + front and rear protection without producing jamming codes and being able to jam on the 'fly', :shock:

We have another confirmation from another forum member that these overpass shots are occuring more then they used to. This is what the member said in another thread:
