    Default RDD in Switzerland??

My co-worker told me that some weeks ago he had a weird experience with the police with his motorbike at the maloja pass (canton of GR).

He said that there was road works or something so the speed limit signal went down from 80 to 40 km/h. now since he loves accelerating also in the other way (braking), he braked hard abruptly.

a few seconds later the police stopped him. my co-worker thought that it was a routine control since he didn't drive past the limit. he thought wrong: the officers were in bad mood and have shaken his bike down from the top to the bottom. they looked in every angle as if they were looking for something. my co-worker said that they used something like a scanner for this, but he couldn't remember what it looks like. when he told me that, i immediately thought about a radar detector detector.

after app. 10 minutes they let him go. when he asked what he did wrong, they said that they thought he used a radar detector because he braked that hard.

so be careful, RD users in Graubünden, i think the police there got new toys...

They probably didnt use an RDD, they just saw him brake for their radars (coincidentally) and assumed he had an RD

Yes they definitely stopped him because of his hard braking. But the odd thing is that they also used something like a scanner. Next week I will ask my co-worker if he can describe what it looks like.

I can rule out that he is lying since he is my boss and he claims that he never heard about radar detectors before.

The Spectre radar detector detectors (only ones that I know of) are quite big/heavy and they detect the emissions from the radar-detector, not the physical detector's presence itself...
