    Default Nevada I-80 update

Just went back and forth again across I-80 in Nevada in the past 4 days. I'm seeing a pattern change, likely due to summer. The NHP is cruising the open desert more than usual, between cities, both rolling and parked Ka. They are aggressively using I/O now, most, if not all the time. I got very lucky going westbound. I spotted the roof of a NHP hiding in the bushes, center divide, and slowed quickly - 2 seconds later got lit up with Ka. No lead time on that one because it was around a corner and no other traffic around.

I've still not seen any enforcement between Wells and the Utah border during the last 30 crossings.

That said, my trip eastbound was uneventful - minus a single juicy save from opposite direction NHP running I/O shots at traffic which was 1 car per mile. I snagged the first hit from 2 miles out.

No other alerts for the entire 850 mile drive. Go figure.

Thanks for the update. Surprisingly I've encountered a fair bit of NHP doing C/O and I get warned ages before I hit one (this is in Reno/Sparks). I'm also encountering POP from NHP in the construction zone on US-395 right before I-80 in Reno.

I am, however, seeing more I/O in the past couple weeks all of a sudden. I'm also finding the Washoe County Sheriff & Reno Police using I/O and generally they were running C/O before and you could get a warning miles away. Sparks police generally all use C/O to the point where its irritating to hear my RD constantly alert me.

Yeah, the locals use C/O - I often drive down 395 to Minden and that stretch has them using C/O. I sometimes see NHP using C/O in that area.

Most of my driving is open desert, and NHP is using exclusively I/O from Fernley to Wendover. They seem to be getting better - a year ago it was half and half C/O vs I/O.

I'm doing this once again for the 4th July weekend. I'll enable POP and see if anything pops up.
