    I read on a car forum over here that the UK police stopped an Irish reg car with an Irish licensed driver and made sure he paid by taking him to the nearest ATM to get the money or they would arrest him otherwise. He really had no choice because he would miss his ferry if he had been detained.

    I dunno how true it was but I have heard of it happening before up in the north of the country where drivers from either side of the border could not be pursued for the fines/points when they were living on the other side of it.

    Maybe that is how they plan to do it.
