Default Using a navaalert in a big truck

What concerns me is will the DOT find the navaalert to look like an rd and pull you over in a big truck? I need to know if the navaalert can be dimmed due to using it in a commercial vehicle? If not, can the unit be upgraded so it can be dimmed in the near future?

Not sure if law enforcement would be able to see the NavAlert in a vehicle that high up, but if that's truly a concern we have a darker shade lens, we have no plans on adding a dimming feature sorry.

I have been selling these units in Winnipeg Manitoba which has very strict radar detector laws and no one has ever had a issue with police even questioning the unit so far.

If its a concern place it out of site the unit does work well when not on dash, I am surprised how well it works , then again we are dealing with freq below 2000mhz so line of site is not 100% required.

Many users mount the unit on the steering column or inside the map pocket.

Using steering column is my method for mounting because its black mat finish blend with the vehicle so well you can barley realize its installed, plus sun does not effect the display and makes for best viewing, I only use my Navalert display for speed now, I had the analog meter. I have become lazy - did not realize how much I preferred a digital readout of speed!

    Default darker

Darker huh, well I will have to think about that? I know a lot of LEOS would mistake that for a rd.
