It is not possible to integrate the LI with any Cheetah equipment yet. (Feb 2008)This means Wireless Fitting Kits, the VizAlert motorcycle helmet display or to get the alerts through the GPSmirror GPS Speed camera detector.

The reason was explained by Ivan (interceptor) above - Laser Interceptor are still working on their product.

Making a new interface involves a substantial amount of time and money - they don't just get magic'd out of thin air I'm afraid So once their product is stable (and Ivan sends a finished one for our engineers to look at! :P ) we can begin to look at a new project to make an interface.

Until that time, if you want an LI or already have one, you can still buy Cheetah products now to run as stand alone devices or in conjunction with your radar detector. You will always be able to purchase the Cheetah interface for LI later on down the line. (no timescale as yet!)

The only other alternative if you want full integration of all three technologies right now (e.g. GPS Location of red-light/speed cams, radar detection and laser jamming is to choose a jammer that is already compatible.- Blinder, LPP, AL, etc.

I hope this answer helps to clarify a frequently asked question.

    Thanks for your explanations.

Whilst you are waiting, you can use some Cheetah parts and use a Bluetooth transmitter and RX receptor to hear the sound coming from the LI. In the future, we can hope for a total compatibility Cheetah/LI.

It looks like Ivan didn't know he was to ship a unit. Over on his forums someone pointed that out to him today.

We've spoken to Ivan on many occassion regarding the shipping of an LI unit. He has promised to send us one as soon as he has everything sorted.

See that with a Bluetooth transmitter (Zoom i HiFi Universal Transmitter Model 4353) and Bluetooth receptor (Motorola MotoRokr T505) and some cheetah products: POWERnode, STEALTHnode, relay (15 A, 14 VDC).

Any update on Laser Interceptor compatibility with the GPS Mirror? I'm trying to decide on a laser jammer and want to control everything from one command center.

    Venusian_Artist,

I'd suggest looking at a different brand of jammer, because there is still no update on this. I am still waiting on confirmation from Ivan that their product is stable (his word, not mine.) To be frank, I've given up chasing them. The ball is in their court.

We would like to do it and are more than prepared to green-light the project, but we will not even begin to invest any time money developing an interface for it until we know that any other manufacturer's is stable, otherwise it's just a waste of money.

Actually, if anyone is interested in this interface can you please note your interest by making a post here - this will help establish what the potential market for this interface is.

A new Cheetah interface for the LI would allow the Laser Interceptor alerts to integrate with the GPSmirror, the Vizalert Motorcycle helmet display, Wireless Fitting Kits, etc

However potential customers will have to be prepared to trade integration for losing the LI's voice alerts identifying the laser gun. It doesn't make any difference for the motorcycle unit, because it's only visual, but these "Gun Specific" alerts will not be able to be heard on the mirror, or through a wireless fitting kit. You would receive our standard voice-plus-tone alert on the mirror or the tone alerts on the Wireless Fitting Kits, in exactly the same way as you would have with any other jammer.
