    Yea, one time before I had my x50, I borrowed a friend's Cobra. I was shot with laser, and it was mounted mid level. Then again, I hear Cobras arent too bad with laser.

    my first detector was a cobra 9330 i think and radar sucked but i picked up laser at about 1500ft, or maybe it was just falsing to the reflection of the moon :wink:

    Yeah, Whistler's instructions also say to mount low, but that's completely based on picking up laser hits. Until I laser veil my car, I'm not going to worry too much about laser -- once it hits me, I'm toast anyway. But I mounted mine high to get a better view in my low car for bounce and skip of radar signals. High for me is low for an Explorer.

    elvato, if you mount low, it would be considered high if a honda is next to you and since you have a white truck with shinny grill, well kind of defeats the purpose of mounting low for lidar

    I think people mount it low so there isn't a cord hanging, because most of the people with cobras or whistlers don't take the time to hard wire their unit. I don't know, I have always had my cobras and whistlers ops: mounted right in the center and level.

    yea the x50 i have is mounted just below my rearview and its basicly at roof level of any other car...
