    Default WHy is it that??

Why is it that people feel the need to say i don't speed when the topic of speed enforcement countermeasures are being discussed? When you know down rite they do speed and its just a line of bogus bull $hit!! I mean half the time these are the people with the cobra's that you try to tell suck or the RMR's as well or whistler's. I mean its like they are so attached to their walmart cheepy that they refuse to save and get a good unit? Instead they claim "i just don't speed" or "i don't speed anyways" why lie people? We all know better we aren't stupid we know everybody speeds from time to time so why say never you know that is a lie never is to strong of a word, never ya rite maybe once in awhile but i try not to would be a more honest answer if you really didn't. The fact still remains that these people refuse to give up there cheap outdated eqipment and get something that is top notch or up to date.

    Default people

People are fearful of actually admitting that they go over the speed limit alpine. You and I know they occasionally speed but for them not to admit it, I just have to laugh at that thought.

Who's to say that they're lying?

I'm decently countermeasure'd, but I *_HONESTLY_* do not speed on my local surface streets.

Do you have any idea how heavily enforced my local surface streets are? By speeding even 5-over, I risk a pull-over, and even if I weren't cited, I'd still be delayed by at least 10 to 15 minutes to my destination. Neither are worth the trouble to me.

And what about the driving risks my daily commute route - which goes through many residential neighborhoods and school-zones - carries in terms of roadside pedestrians, and even children who might dart out of hidden driveways? How horrible would I feel if I were to have such an accident, when it could have been easily avoided had I gone just a little slower?

Why should I be ashamed of not exceeding the PSL?

I do not think that anyone here has the right - nor the intimate knowledge - regarding anyone else's driving habits in order to say that they're "lying."

The way I was raised and from where I come, lying is a serious charge - and to either lie or to accuse someone of it are both very, very serious considerations.

Please consider that some of us here may actually be telling the truth.

    -----

And yes, I do speed out on the open roads. How much I exceed the PSL simply depends on the precise conditions and situations I find myself in. 8)

    Well said, and agreed.

I hate people right now - because everyone that doesn't typically drive - is out driving. 10 MPH under PSL which makes it soo much worse. Esp when the Lights are timed so you hit them all at PSL.

    Default I am more less

I am more less talking in situations where we all know we do.... I-75 the interstate. Country roads where we know enforcement isn't as likely... come on we all know we do it its just a matter of being strong willed enough to admit ya i speed... So what don't we all from time to time so what is the big deal ya'll think ima go tell larry the Leo? I mean jeez people get a life.. I personally think its a mental problem they just think everybody and every Leo is out to get them or report them to a Leo.

I don't see why anyone would spend a $1000.00 dollars for a radar detector and jammer if they are not going to speed.

These devices serve only one purpose, to alert you of the police doing speed checks.

If you never speed, then you have nothing to be worried about and hence none of the devices on this forum are of use to you, except for maybe the nav alert..

In a perfect world, that makes sense. (but the world's not perfect)

Human error makes it possible to misidentify the speeder or use the measuring equipment in an way where it yields incorrect results.

The equipment itself could be faulty.

If a motorist has multiple cars, or perhaps one that's more costly to insure (or both examples at once) then the financial impact of even a single undeserved ticket could offset the cost of the countermeasures.

    Great.....

But if a person makes such a bold statement" i don't speed" then they have nothing to be concerned with.

I know all about high insurance cost, Ontario has the highest rates for auto insurance in the world.
