Looks like it is just bad luck.

The problem is probably in the plastic modular connector where it plugs into the RD. That is easily replaced if you are using a flat cable and have a crimping tool.

I plug and unplug that on my V1 every time I go to work. I have to replace the modular connector about once per year because the plastic tab breaks. I make my cable a little bit longer to compensate for this.

Do they use modular connectors on both ends of the cord? If yes, have you tried swapping a regular flat phone cable for the BEL cable?

I assume you checked the fuse in the cig. lighter plug.

    Default yes

Yes I did check the fuse for the cigar lighter plug. I have also used my voltmeter to check the voltage of the different trucks that my rd goes in. I will have to keep an eye on all of these things.

    Default Smart cord

    Hey proud,
My smart cord failed on friday! There is a non replaceable fuse in the smart cord. I called belscort and theyare sending a free replacement. I bought the ext. warranty when I got the X50 so it was covered. Good customer service from belscort as well!

Nice job, I did shorten my V1 cord though.
