What U Want From Our Tests

ok we are having a big test day downunder on the 19th January, I am asking what tests you guys want to see, we are doing REAL WORLD test and not the half asses efforts you have seen by other testers doing 5 million mile detecton on a straight road, we want real tests, over hills, round corners, close range etc like we encounter on the road!

We will be using

Kustom Ka and K Band Radar
Pro Laser 2 and Ultralyte Laser
VG-2 and Spectre 4 RDD

If any RD or LJ companies want us to test their gear them please PM or email me.

So if you have any tests in mind and what detectors we will try to accomodate!

yeah we have the STI, we are also trying to get the STi-R

there may also be a "mystery" jammer that is in proto stage....very secret right now...

I want to see jammer tests done on the rears of vehicles equipped with various jammers. I recently got a ticket from a CHP sitting on an onramp and shooting laser from behind. My jammer failed me. Apparently, this is a tactic that others have seen as well.

Spectre III and IV range on the V1, 9500i, RX-65, and STi at various squelch settings. It would also be helpful to know which squelch (sensitivity) settings the Spectre III and IV must be used at in urban and suburban areas to avoid excessive falsing.

Spectre IV range on various V1 versions would be interesting too. Knowing the range on 1.7 would be helpful. I don't recall if Spectre III or IV range on a 1.7 has ever been tested.

Spectre IV range (if any at all) on STi. We already know Spectre III can't pick it up period.

Over the hill and around the curve range on K band and Ka (35.5) V1 vs. STi.

Quick trigger test K band and Ka V1 vs. STi. Half second to one second bursts would be a good starting point.

I'd like to see the duct tape vs veil (or just duct tape) thing tested.

I'd also like to see the test more "real-world" focused on the question "will the detector have saved you?", not "my V1 detects foamy radar from 3 miles while your STi only detects it from 2.5 miles".

Some quick-trigger IO tests would be interesting too -- I really worry that shorter bursts of radar that can set off Escorts at short-range won't be able to set them off far away when terrain might break a 2 second beam into 3 smaller bursts.

When you're done with the test, offer the use of your Spectre IV to VR. That way they will be forced to update their website where they say they have been unable to get their hands on a Spectre. No excuses then.

I know, they already may have the Spectre by now, but probably not the IV. In exchange, they should offer you a stealthed V1 to compensate for letting them borrow your Spectre IV!
