metallic windshield tinting
Just started using a 98 Pontiac Montana as a work car and was wondering how much the windshield will effect my Escort 8500. I know that the whole windshield has the metallic tint except for a very small section at the top and its to far up to mount the detector there. Anyone have any idea how bad it will hurt performance?

A metallic tint will seriously decrease performance. On the other hand, mounting your RD in the area above this metallic tint does get the RD out of your normal driver's field of view and actually turns out (at least for me) to be very convenient.
same here...having it up there is actually quite nice...and it keeps it out of view from prying eyes and LEO's.
