$60 cheaper blue escort on ebay then at bestbuy

hey i just found an escort x50 blue for 290 total, and at best buy it is 344 plus tax whick would be 355 something like that. what my question is do you guys think that i should get it off e bay beacuae it 60 dollars cheaper

IMO no. Go factory direct or an authorized seller. That way you have a solid warranty if anything is wrong. You never know what your getting on eBay, It's just not worth the risk.

if the unit is good then good buy but from now on its worth it in the long run to buy direct from the factory

Its better to buy directly from manufacture. That way if it needs to be fixed there wont be any hassle.

eBay is usually questionable... alot of stolen detectors end up on there.

In fact, there was actually a member on here who got his V1 stolen, and found somebody with it (same serial numbers) selling it on Ebay.

Ebay is usually cheaper, but as said, you have NO IDEA what you are getting. I do purchase from them for some things - but never electronics.

When I started looking for my V1 (I was also considering various Belscort models) on Ebay, I saw this on the Beltronics website:

That's messed up. It pretty much cemented my initial hesitations of buying from Ebay. Also, I went back to Ebay and noticed how many of the people that were selling detectors were on this list... scary.

If you find an awesome deal, just be careful, and ask yourself if the money saved is worth the risk and peace of mind.

Think of this, you save 60 bucks in the beginning, 2 months goes by and something happens. It will run about 80 bucks for Escort to fix it. Do the math. Of course you can get it from a private seller, and you might be fine. Make sure you get any unit with a serial number attached.
