My Pro 78 which has basically the same performance as 695 is great here in metro Detroit. Its a perfect suburban RD. My 20 mile drive across town (no highway) gives me about 3 false alerts all K band. They last no more than 3-4 seconds each at one bar strength. I turn off X band and keep it in highway mode but turn on the auto quiet feature. After about 4 seconds of a full volume alert it quiets down to a volume of 1. I really like this. In city mode the RD will just beep at you a couple times when first getting a signal then beep a couple more times when its a higher signal (5 bars i think). I'd wait and get the Pro-78SE or 690SE.

well I already have the 695 and the 955, i am just deciding on what to give him.
