Who do you think will come up with the next detector to compete or surpass escort, valentine, and bel? or will one pull away from the others?

Bel. I talked with v1 & they said that their main focus is the sensitivity of the detector, not filtering.
that is kind of suprising i thoght val. would come up with a new model and possibly come out with a laser jammer as well
Valentine has said that they have no plans to get into active countermeasures, but he also said that POP wasn't a threat, so you never know.
seems like some under the table deals between the government and the detector manufacturers regarding the scalar RDD immunity... no one wants to step up to the plate...
I think V1 will come out with something new and better than all the rest. They blew off POP and then they come out with the best POP protection distance supposedly. They haven't changed in a while and I think Mike Valentine is passive aggressive so he will tell everybody that nothing is changing and then BAM, here comes the new aerodynamic V1 with special arrows and colored lights with better software and antennas.
I still think it is incredible that the V1 looks almost exactly the same, just a little smaller than it did in 1992 when it first came out. Some people still see it as #1 and will accept nothing without arrows and at worst it is still a strong #3 out of the countless radar detector brands.
Well the tests prove that V1 doesnt have the best POP range, but ill give you this- It has only falsed on me once... ( was like an instant on, only there were no cops)Originally Posted by BiGeAsYgUy
I don't think they have done a test yet on the range of POP detection that included the new V1 with POP2. The last 2004 Speedzones test only checked to see if the RD's picked up POP from 500-1000 feet and the V1 didn't have POP protection at that time on Ka band.Originally Posted by Sethy
According to V1 and Mike Valentine's mouth, the V1 has the greatest distance when it comes to POP protection and this is only according to them because no tests have been done recently.

I take it all with a grain of salt until the next test is done and then I swallow some more salt because nobody is ever independent and objective no matter what they say because we all have biases and that is what makes us human.
The only falses my V1 has given so far, outside of a Ku false, were not really falses, just grocery store doors and stuff.

Yes, but this also coming from the man that tests his detector against the original 8500 when the x50 has been out. I didn't think the version from POP to POP2 increased the range at all, and the speedtests use a v1 w/pop detection. btw BigEasy, nice rideAccording to V1 and Mike Valentine's mouth, the V1 has the greatest POP distance when it comes to POP protection and this is only according to them because no tests have been done recently.![]()
