8500 x50 own's the night

yah i'm kicking around getting somthing new in the very near furture either a redline or even maybe a V1 . We'll see if something new hits the scene in 2011

It is a decent detector, but there are far better ones out there.

Agree, it's all about increasing our odds of picking up the RADAR. A top on the line RD usually has a much better success rate vs the lower ends. Not saying the 8500 x50 (I ran one for about 2 years) is a slouch either but it ain't the best.

now members have said the area you mostly travel has alot to do with determining which RD would work best . Being i live in the NE just off cape cod lots of stores (falses) i like the easy mute on my 8500 X-50 not to sure if i would like the lock-out feature on the 9500ix + i dont have redlght cameras or speed cams to worry about so i dont think i need the GPS feature I see alot of you guy started w/a 8500 and moved up to redline's or V1's lets see if you guys can sway me one way or the other what do you all suggest .

I've run them separately to just to make sure. V1 and STi-R usually alert together. So I've turned my V1 off and run just the STi-R and Redline and STi-R usually alerts before the Redline. I do need a K band, 33.8, 34.7, and 35.5 gun to do futher testing. I just wish I had that kind of money so I could just get this over with and show what I mean.

I've owned the X-50...and it definitely does not "own the night". It's mediocre at best, and the quality is crap. Best thing on it was the pretty blue lights

I sold my X50 for V1 a long while ago but I miss it. I miss the SPEC display, the nice lights, hi tech looking, and MOST of all.. has the best KA sound ever (set to loud!)
