Default SC55 or C50 with Redline?

Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble deciding between the SC55 and C50. There aren't many reviews for the SC55 but a lot of the c50. I'm scared that the warning notice on the sc55 will have a short range like I heard on the 9500ix. I'm leaning towards the c50 because it seems pretty good on youtube. However, the reasons why I'm considering the SC55 is that it can be integrated with my redline without needing to change my hardwire. Which would you guys suggest?

    Thanks!

I had to make this same decision a while back. As you can see in my sig, I went with the C50. I have since discovered other features I like even more about it.

    Reasons to buy the C50:
    1. The trinity database is great. I have been very impressed with this from the beginning.
    2. It alerts to VASCAR lines (if they have been reported to cheetah)
    3. The compass is often useful when I don't want to break out the GPS.
    4. It does not add weight to the suction cup mount used by the Redline (not piggybacked on it)
    5. It is very inexpensive for all of its features
    6. Can be set to warn as you reach certain speeds. I have mine warn me at 96MPH so that I am aware when I am drifting into triple digits and can back off.

    Reasons to buy SC55
    1. Reducing false alerts on the Redline (not always a good thing).
    2. No need to mount on the steering column.

Now the reason that I say reducing falses is not always a good thing is because there may be times when you are getting ready to stomp on the gas, but wouldn't do it if you know about the fact that some LEO is already radaring you in anticipation. I have been saved this way.

    Come other cons

    C50:
    1. This first update is a pain in the butt, because of the registration process.
    2. There is no suction cup windshield mount option. You have to use the sticky magnetic disk.

    SC55
    1. Short alert bug. This apparently affects only the points that you program into the unit.
    2. Not sure that it alerts to anything other than RLCs and speed cams

It is worth mentioning that I do not own an SC55, so I may be wrong on some points. Hopefully someone who has one will correct me if I need it.

c50 does sound like a great choice. Thanks for the opinions.

Yes I did. I also ordered a second hardwire kit, which I used for my GPS.

I think you can set it under a certain speed to not alert or something.
