Re: Texting While Driving (NY, Dutchess County)

There's nothing theoretically wrong with the law. But like most laws, the problems lie in the enforcement of it. If I pick up my phone and look at the time, I can get a ticket. I have a touch phone...

    Re: Redline and Laser hits

Escort claims that there are 5 optical laser sensors in the Redline. I've never tested mine with a gun, but I saw a cop shooting me with laser on two occasions, and it went off both times.

    Both...

Re: Texting While Driving (NY, Dutchess County)

Under the old law, which was passed last year, you could only get a ticket for texting while driving if you committed another offense as well. So if you were texting but not speeding, etc., no...

    Re: Rayee F18 Conqueror

For $75, maybe you could test one for the rest of us.

I see these sold in bulk lots directly from China. Who know what they are. They could be a replica of a name brand sold here.

  8. Re: PA - PSP's 'Operation Yellow Jacket' Targets Speeders With Disguise

The great thing about half of those "active" work zones in PA is that no one is really working in them. If you slow down to 55, you'll get rear ended.
  9. Re: Redline extra sensitivty help to detect I/O hits of cars in front (low volume tra

I saw the post there after I answered you. You got some great responses.
  10. Re: Redline extra sensitivty help to detect I/O hits of cars in front (low volume tra

I've thought about it. It's exactly why I got it. Interstate driving, and I need great range. The cars in front of me can draw the hits. I'll detect them and slow down.

    Re: STI Driver Seized, Ontario

I can't wait. My friend had a kidney transplant and tried to buy health insurance in PA. He was denied for a pre existing condition.

    Great system.

Re: New 10 Meter radio ordered for CB use.

Ok, thanks. I thought the radio was being sold as a CB radio. I finally get that it's a ham radio only, but can be modded to broadcast on CB frequencies.

Re: New 10 Meter radio ordered for CB use.

I'm sorry for my ignorance here, but I find it hard to believe that this radio would allow someone to put out more than 4 watts on the CB channels. Perhaps it can be hacked to do that, but out of the...

Re: Correct Steps to Dispute a Ticket???

I'm not in your state so this is generic advice.

I'd contact the court and find out if a prosecutor will be available for you to talk to before the hearing. (You might have to plead not guilty at...

Usually, because they bang on the nut and break it free. They are really necessary for rusted parts, although torches also work on most things. I don't like heating shocks though.

Re: New 10 Meter radio ordered for CB use.

I'm confused about the part I bolded below in the review. I get the 10 meter reference - I don't have a license. But the bolded part suggests that it's illegal to use the radio as a CB radio. Is that...

Re: PA - Best RD for K and Ka bands in PA?

My Redline is great in PA. There are a lot of pretty empty stretches of highway on 79 from Erie to Pittsburgh and I want long range detection. If I get an alert, I slow down. If an arrow tells me...

    Re: STI Driver Seized, Ontario

    Thanks.

It is unfortunate though that you have to spend a lot of money to assert your basic rights when they are violated.

Except that the Cobra needs to be on in order to make it warm, and...

  25. Re: thoroughly discouraged, am I doing something wrong?

Can low voltage screw up the 940? I had one that worked great, but I hard wired it into the wires for the dome light on a Civic. I knew at the time that when I turned the ignition off, the lights...
