The Sonys use their proprietary Memory Stick, which in the biggest "Pro Duo" model holds up to 8GB, if I recall correctly. CF and SD cards are available up to 16 and 32GB. My DCR-SR220 (60GB hard drive) takes great video, but vibration is hard on it. I drove on I-16 out to Savannah, GA a few weeks back, and that highway was so rough that it wouldn't record for more than a couple of minutes at a time before shutting itself off. Or, if I have the top down and get over 50mph, the wind buffetting it makes it shut off. Not what you want for extended in-car video, but for handheld use, SteadyShot mode makes for very smooth video indeed.
