Thanks for all the replies! I found out my version is 3.619. So, with this info, would it be advisable to upgrade to 3.826 and just turn the POP off? I'm curious if there is enough of a difference in overall performance between my current version and the newest version to justify the upgrade.

Will the V1 "J" out for laser, or is it just from other radar source leakage (cobra, uniden...)? :?:

From what I know, if you get a "J" alert it will NOT be from laser.

What are the issues with J alerts? I just purchased my V1, 3.826, and it should be here tomorrow.

The only time my V1 detected junk was immediately after I ran my X50 directly next to it, which I dismissed as personal prejudice

I had an odd situation last night with mine, I got a Ka-Band alert, rapidly increasing in urgency at about the same rate another vehicle was approaching me (newer ford pick-up) arrows followed the truck as it went past, (all within 100 yds ) but I never got a "J" alert. I know darn well this was a false from the truck that passed me, but I was suprised the signal didn't get "junked out". I even pulled a u-turn to see if maybe there was a leo hiding somewhere in the wooded area this happend and saw nothing or got any other alerts. and I have never goteen a false anywhere near this area. (there is nothing around but trees & critters)

So, most of you guys are complaining that your V-1 is "J"-ing out real threats, but I am disappointed that mine didn't give me a "J" to let me know it was another leaky detector. Whaz-up wit dat?

I try to make it a habit to not hit the binders at the first signal of anything,
But it is hard when you get a KA alert!

The J feature only works for Ka, not K, X or laser.

So, will upgrading from v.3.619 to v.3.826 give me any added performance? Or does it just add POP and possibly the J-headaches? If it doesn't add performance, I'd be apt to save the $75 upgrade fee.
