Default 2 Boggies from one source

I was approching a NYST who was coming towards me with continuous K band. My V1 read 2 k band boggies and when I passed him the arrows switched to rear and it showed only one k band boggie. First time I encountered this. This was a rural road with trees and open land. No buildings to reflect false signals from. Anyone else run into this?

You may have been picking up a false alert at the same time you were picking up the LEO.

The trooper could also have had 2 guns in the car, 1 front facing and 1 rear facing. However that doesn't really explain why you only got 1 source once he passed you... :?

I find that common to get K band ghosting when you get real close to the radar source.

This happened to me with a Sheriff, and I have to believe it does this with auto-doors also, but confirmed ghosting on a real source is very rare from my experience, they certainly seemed to have trumped this problem at VR.

This happened to me also .Same situation with a leo in a known non false spot. If the leo can have dual guns one facing rear and one front
than as you come up on him from behind lets say.. you would receive the
first signal of his rear shooting gun (signal 1) than as you get closer you pick up the perimeter of his front facing radar and get signal 2. than as you pass
him and the perimeter of his rear facing gun you go back to 1 signal.(his fron t facing gun your rear arrow..Does this make sense? LOL

Did not experience this with my V1 but my X50 does this in some state trooper radar guns in ka band. I use my X50 often and use my V1 for long trips.

Just don't know where the reflective signal would be coming from if it was ghosting. :?
