    Default I cant stand it

I sold my V1 because I dont drive that much over the limit anymore and could use the money, but I find myself paranoid and afraid to go even 5 over. I might buckle and call V1. I want my radar back!

Forget about speeding. A radar detector offers great entertainment. There's nothing that breaks up a long trip like countsurveilling some LEOs. It's got the feeling of a sports event. Between my GPS (Garmin Nuvi) and RD (V1), the trips are full of excitement. You can observe how well the unit performs under different situations and report the results back here. A while back I authored a thread about Speedster vs. Techno-Hobbyist, me being the latter.

Yeah half of me having a V1 was because of speeding, and the other half was the tech. But now that I dont have it I feel naked, and vulnurable. I am probably going to call V1 today and order a refurb.

Your not the only one that feels that. When I sold my escort and didint have and RD for a week...it was hell. It felt compltely different not having an RD. I couldnt even go no more than 5miles. Pissed me off when people kept on passing me.

Ordered it today? I thought you said that you were going to get a refurb? They are closed today. I assume you folded and bought new via the web?

You certainly get used to having one and feel naked without it, regardless of your use for it. When I got my V1, the 985 went to the Jeep. Like I really needed an RD in a Jeep...but I just couldn't drive without it! You get so used to the extra set of eyes.

I've been driving with a rd for almost 35 years. I had an original fuzzbuster with one of those lens on the front (was supposed to help). I won't drive for a mile without my rd. I know what you mean.

On the hiway I'm usually the guy in the right lane doing 65 mph. In the city, I find it almost impossible to do 25, my car rolls faster than that.

I understand this all to well.... Heck i couldnt even wait for my x50 to come back from the shop before i bought a V1.. Hell i didnt even send in the x50 prior to ordering the V1.

Having an RD is just along the lines of having clean underwear on if you get in an accident....
